Kennel Vale Nature Reserve

Kennel Vale Nature Reserve is just a short trip from Tehidy. It’s a lovely place for a walk through the historic and beautiful wooded valley setting. This gorgeous nature reserve is set in a wooded valley and you frequently spot woodpecker, tree creepers and dippers. The valley itself was once a site for industry with gunpowder production for the mines. As you follow the top track you’ll see rails set into the ground, guard houses, quarries where the stone for the buildings was mined and lastly as you drop into the valley you’ll see the watermills lined up along side the stream. The path by the mills can be wet and care should be taken.
