Privet Hawk Moth

A Privet Hawk Moth on a fence post. One of two we have spotted today. Well, David our eagle eyed groundsman did. When the wings are open, this little beastie has about a 9 or 10cm wingspan. Lovely to see. They only fly in June and July.
