Porthtowan Beach just over 5 minutes from Tehidy Holiday Park is perfect for families and surfers. The mermaid pool on the right hand side of the beach is perfect for playing at a low tide. The coastal footpath also likes this beach to Chapel Porth just 25 minutes away and this is a lovely walk to another National Trust area that is a great one for the world body boarding championships. Porthtowan has good parking, a toilet block in the car park, local shop and the lovely Blue Bar at the back of the beach – a real chill out spot.
