Lanhydrock - 20 minutes

Approx 20 minutes from Tehidy, this wonderful estate offers House and Gardens, riverside walks and a longer walk out to Restormel Castle.

Camel Trail - CornwallCamel Trail - 30 minutes

Another favourite cycle route. Padstow to Bodmin, via Wadebridge. Set some 30 minutes from Tehidy this route is another of our favourites to take the children on. Fish and Chips at Rick Stein's in Padstow make a wonderful treat to finish the day.

An ideal place for a wet day. The children love it here. Only 20 minutes from Tehidy.

Lappa Valley Steam Railway - 20 Minutes

One of the oldest railways in Cornwall. Approx 20 minutes from Tehidy.


Porthtowan and Portreath coast CornwallPorthtowan - 10 minutes

Approximately 3 miles from Tehidy this is another family and surfers favourite. The Blue Bar has great views over the sands. Car Parking is easy. A great spot to try out the body board and you can be safe in the knowledge that the RNLI will be keeping a careful watch on you and your family.

Chapel Porth CornwallChapel Porth - 10 minutes

Just beyond Porthtowan this National Trust beach is stunning. It has limited parking, but does have a cafe AND keep a look out for the Fishermans cottage at the top of the valley. Fresh crab or lobster make a great way to end the day.

St IvesSt Ives in Cornwall - 15 minutes

A busy but largely unspoilt town/ harbour. St Ives makes for a great day out with ice creams, pasties, beaches, shops, Tate St Ives gallery and Barbara Hepworth Gardens, etc. It has something for everyone. Only 20 minutes from Tehidy. But beat the traffic and take the Park and ride in from St Erth. The train runs behind the beaches with wonderful views.

Great village, great beach, well worth a day out. Only 15 minutes from Tehidy.

A small historic city. Well worth a visit. Truro is only 15 minutes from Tehidy.
Pendennis Castle Cornwall
Pendennis Castle

A key castle in the Tudor times and has been used since then in the wars. An English Heritage site well worth a visit.

St Mawes

St Mawes Cornwall
If you’re going to St Mawes you have got to go by St Harry Ferry. St Mawes is a picturesque village and has a castle that is well worth a visit.

Minnack Theatre - 30 minutes

Combine a day out to this wonderful spot with the local beach, just Minack Theatre - Cornwallbelow the theatre. You won’t be disappointed. Approx 30 minutes from Tehidy.

Maritime Museum - 20 minutes

If you’re going to Falmouth this should be on your list of places to visit. We have information in reception regarding the fishing trips from the quay. Approx 20 minutes away.

An ideal day out for the whole family.’ Only 20 minutes away.

The Lizard - 30 minutes

The most southerly point in the the UK beautiful beaches around this spectacular peninsular.

Roskilly’s - 35 minutesChysauster

Real Cornish Ice cream from an organic farm. It is slightly more expensive but the taste is great, that’s why we stock it. There are some lovely walks in the area, good food and the cows are milked at 3pm. A good day out, only 30 – 35 minutes away.

Cyder Farm - 10 minutesLands End Cornwall

10 minutes away from Tehidy. This is a good stopping off place if your on your way to Newquay or Perran Porth for the day. A cold Rattler goes well after a hard day on the beach.

Chysauster - 20 minutes

On the way to Falmouth or Lands End and about Poldark Mine Cornwall20 minutes from Tehidy. If you have children they will love this Iron Age Hill Village. It has great historic and hide and seek value. Another English Heritage spot is the famous Tintagel.

Lands End - 35 minutes

‘The might of the wild Atlantic meets the towering cliffs of Cornwall.’ On a calm day a walk from Sennen Cove makes an ideal way to visit Lands End. Approx 35 minutes from Tehidy.

Poldark Mine - 15 minutesNational Seal Sanctuary Cornwall

One of the two most atmospheric mines in Europe.... English Heritage. Approx 15 minutes from Tehidy.

St Michaels Mount - 20 minutes

Approx 20 minutes from Tehidy. Walk across at low tide or catch the ferry. A wonderful spot to see the sun set too.

National Seal Sanctuary - 25 minutes
Goonhilly Earth Station Cornwall
Caring for injured or abandoned pups and returning them to the wild. Approx 25 minutes from Tehidy.

Geevor Mine - 25 minutes

The largest preserved mining site in the UK. Here Cornish mining comes to life. Approx 25 minutes from Tehidy.

MK Fisheries near St Erth come highly recommended. For those who want to try fishing for the first time or are expert. Approx 15 minutes from Tehidy.
