Wigwam holidays in Cornwall

by Richard 23. April 2012 09:43

The wigwam was a great hideaway from the weather, very comfortable and clean. The bed was really easy to make up and having a fridge was really handy too. The location is perfect for the coast, so all in all no faults!! Thank you very much, would definitely recommend.

Tehidy Holiday Park is a registered CO aware camp site

by Richard 14. January 2012 11:50

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service have launched a Carbon Monoxide awareness campaign and have asked campsites in Cornwall to sign up to it. Tehidy Holiday Park has. All accommodation that uses gas already has a Carbon Monoxide and Fire alarm fitted as standard. We also state in our Terms and Conditions and Site Rules, which are given to all visitors, that BBQs or similar open fire sources are not allowed near any form of accommodation, including tents and should be at a safe distance, as they are a Carbon Monoxide source. We have never had an incident on site and want all our visitors to have a happy and safe holiday.

Wigwams are a great success

by Richard 29. November 2011 11:38

Our Tehidy wigwams arrived in Cornwall and were set up for the start of October. Since then they have been busy. Families for short breaks, a weekend away, longer visits too. The unanimous opinion was 'Wow' they are fantastic. The wigwams just look as if they really belong on their pitches. The new cooking shelter has proved a big success too, it will be a great addition for campers for many years to come.

by Richard 30. September 2011 12:22

The Tehidy Wigwams in Cornwall are now in use. The picnic benches have been specially made (out of rustic chunky wood) and delivered. This morning I had to take a photo as they look so beautiful in the morning sun. The cooking area should be up and running in another week. Photos will follow.

Wigwam Holidays on our David Bellamy Conservation Awards Model Holiday Park, in Cornwall

by Richard 29. September 2011 11:23

Our beautiful Wigwams are having a good christening. Guests are arriving in. We've just had our David Bellamy 2011 report back and have GOLD again and have been called a model park for the David Bellamy Conservation Awards. Our green credentials have been given another boost. Tehidy does have an enviable setting, in a wooded valley only 2 miles from the sandy beaches of Portreath and Porthtowan and approximately half way between St. Ives and St. Agnes. The sheltered setting means you have the best of both worlds, a lovely escape and easy access to our stunning coast, not to mention all the other features such as the countryside, gardens, cycle and walking trails that bring people here.

The Tehidy Wigwams were chosen out of the many glamping products for a range of reasons, but the key ones are:-

  • They are superbly made and fit beautifully into our setting
  • Their eco credentials include - made from sustainable products - insulated to the same degree as a modern house, for a warm cozy experience - double glazed windows for warmth and ventilation - this means heating requirements are minimal to have a beautifully warm and cozy interior - low energy lighting - low energy fridge freezer - low energy flat screen TV with freeview - a long life span and easily maintained - made in the UK, which helps them have low carbon footprint.
  • The size and quality of the fixtures and fittings make them ideal for families and couples alike.
  • Very comfortable seating and beds
  • Electric supply and spare sockets for convenience
  • A covered porch for hanging coats in and leaving wellies/ shoes outside

Of course we have added some of the extras which incluide

  • fridge freezer
  • microwave
  • kettle
  • TV
  • decking for sitting out on
  • picnic benches
  • BBQ
  • covered cooking shelter

Its Gold for Tehidy Holiday Park in Cornwall

by Richard 29. September 2011 09:32

We've just had the David Bellamy Conservation Awards through for 2011 and it's GOLD again.

This is based on sevaral areas of information, being-

  • written report covering all aspects of the park and it's management - how we are eco friendly
  • assessors visit to verify the report and give their opinion
  • feeback from guests on site

These are all sent in to David and Rufus Bellamy who sift through all the information and decide on the outcome.
